My name is Katie and I live in a small country town in the heart of New England. Growing up here has given me a wonderful appreciation for the changing seasons (ok, maybe I don't quite appreciate those sub-zero in-the-dead of winter days...Florida sounds nice!) But I am inspired to capture all the beauty and magic that nature offers us here in my art. I love the traditions that are associated with the seasons and enjoy painting these details into my pictures. My background and training is in illustration and my ultimate dream is to pursue children's book illustration full time...probably won't happen until my kids are old enough to be reading to their own children:)
I have always been captivated by crayons, paint, glue, clay, and any other sort of messy stuff and absolutely need to spend some part of every day creating (Husband can always tell if I haven't had my "fix".) He is there making the lunches and washing the dishes every night so that I can squeeze in a little painting time. We have a real busy house(a cape not a saltbox by the way)with 5 kids and a menagerie of other creatures to take care of, so time is very precious!
